client: Dattner Architects
Jamaica, Queens
L-INES Photo documented the Tree of Life Community Healthcare Center, a 15,000 SF facility in Jamaica, Queens, developed through a collaboration between Community Healthcare Network (CHN), Dattner Architects, Cornell University, and the First Presbyterian Church of Jamaica. This center occupies the first two floors of a mixed-use building, providing a range of medical services including family medicine, OB/GYN, podiatry, behavioral health, HIV and transgender counseling, oral care, ophthalmology, a pharmacy, and a Health Homes program for Medicaid patients. The design emphasizes user-centered care with features like a welcoming reception area, dedicated elevators, and an open stair to promote active design and intuitive wayfinding.
