Gowanus Canal: In Transition Selected for Brooklyn NOW 2026 Exhibition

A snapshot of the changes around the Gowanus Canal. Spanning three years, this video and photography project captures a brief window into the rapid transformation of a New York City neighborhood.

It was such a privilege to be selected as part of the Brooklyn NOW 2026 Exhibition. This was one of those projects where you sense there’s something meaningful there, but can’t quite put it into words until you let it sit and “marinate.” Then suddenly, when you go back and review the material, everything is there and the story begins to unfold before your eyes.

I love how, in such a short span of three years, there is already so much to tell, and even more still unfolding. It feels like a true time-lapse of the city, and a privilege to witness these changes.

You can find more information on the project page. And don’t forget to turn on the sound when you watch the video, it’s quite mesmerizing.
